Mount Seymour in Early Spring
Mount Seymour is a triple peak overlooking Greater Vancouver and Indian Arm. The mountain is a very popular destination with hikers and is easily accessed from the Mount Seymour ski hill. Although a well-marked trail runs along all three summits, many rescues have been performed on this mountain. The most common scenarios involve people slipping down snow-filled couloirs or getting lost during poor visibility.

Seymour offers a great place to practice alpine climbing far from the hordes of the Smoke Bluffs or Rambles. Bluffs along First (Pump) Peak's flanks offer short rock leads and topropes of varying degrees of difficulty and vegetation. There is no guidebook so just pick something and climb it. You may find some old rusted fixed pins from the 1960's. Suicide Bluffs on the north side of Dinky Peak offers some consistently-formed but short WI2 and 3 ice flows in the winter months. Look out for extreme athletes riding planks off the cliffs over your head while climbing here.

Name Notes: Adopted 2 March 2005 on 92G/7; "a well-established name".
