Caption: This photo shows Mt Clemenceau's summit from the West Face. This is as close as the party gets to summit. The winds pick up and storm clouds seem to be coming in quick from the south-east. Of course, just as the group skis off the lower slopes, the weather breaks again. Typical Rockies weather.

Story: This is an attempt to ascend and ski Mt Clemenceau from a base camp at Tusk Glacier by a party of five. The party's initial objective was to put in a new route but sudden poor weather turned them back. Base camp was at Tusk Glacier close to the regular place for Alpenglow Aviation to air-drop parties and food caches; the airplane can land there as the Glacier is wide at that spot and winds are generally pretty predictable at that area.
