Pilgrimage to the Shangri-La Basin: Mount Ethelbert and the Dunbar LakesRanges: Columbia Mountains / Purcell Mountains / Septet Range

In mid-summer, 27 people hiked over Tiger Pass to camp at Dunbar Lakes. Next day 2 of us scrambled up Mount Ethelbert, before returning the same day.

With a convoy as large as ours, and with drivers inexperienced at backroad travel, the drive took nearly 2 hours from Brisco. Every other vehicle parked at the junction with the Tiger Pass Road, but with my high-clearance 4wd, I continued up the road, crossing several washed out creeks. My car ran out of steam on the last hill (it's only got 3 cylinders).
